[PraiseNews] The Presence of the Lord

Greetings...

As I meditated on the Word of the Lord early this morning and
after a time of worship, the Lord caused me to see something
that I wanted to share with you.

Say unto them, Whosoever he be of all your seed among your
generations, that goeth unto the holy things, which the children
of Israel hallow unto the LORD, having his uncleanness upon him,
that soul shall be cut off from my presence: I am the LORD.
                                                      Lev 22:3

I want to talk just a little about the "presence of the Lord"

Someone has said the Old Testament is the New Testament
CONCEALED and the New Testament is the Old Testament REVEALED.
Many have dismissed the Old Testament as something that does
not apply to us today.  Not according to Jesus...

Listen to His Words:

   "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets:
   I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil." Mat 5:17

When He came, Jesus ushered in a new era in history that has
for us better covenants and promises. (Heb 8:6)  But that does
not mean the truths, the types and the shadows of the "law
and the prophets" have simply ceased to be truth.  In the
passage from Leviticus we see a PRINCIPLE that was true then
and remains true today.  That principle is that the people of
Jehovah who disrespect the holy things of God will be cut off
from His presence.  Uncleanness in our lives will result in
absolute cutting off from the presence of God.  Why is this
so important?

Let's look at some of the results and benefits of being in
God's presence:

Glory, honour, strength and gladness!

Glory and honour are in his presence; strength and gladness are
in his place. 1Ch 16:27

The defeat of our enemies!  Our being lifted up before all to
be shown the victor. (instead of the victim)

When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at
thy presence. Psa 9:3

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Psa 23:5

The secrets of happy, satisfied, contented and blessed living!

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of
joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psa
16:11

Protection from the schemes and humiliation of those who would
set themselves against you to cause you troubles!

Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride
of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the
strife of tongues. Psa 31:20

The GOOD NEWS -

If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or
pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy
presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in
our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help. 2Ch 20:9

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be
blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the
presence of the Lord; Act 3:19

Search out your heart and prostrate yourself before the Lord.
Spend time "IN HIS PRESENCE" until you be shown, be truly
repentant and be restored to the place His presence and His
forgiveness and mercy deliver you.  A place of plenty!

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my
help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
