Jehovah is a JEALOUS God...

Jer 17:5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that
trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart
departeth from the LORD. 6 For he shall be like the heath
in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall
inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land
and not inhabited. 7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the
LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. 8 For he shall be as a
tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots
by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her
leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of
drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. 9 The
heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked:
who can know it? 10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the
reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and
according to the fruit of his doings. 11 As the partridge
sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth
riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of
his days, and at his end shall be a fool. 12 A glorious high
throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary. 13
O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be
ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in
the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain
of living waters. 14 Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed;
save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.

The Word of the Lord is SURE.

2Pe 1:19  We have also a more sure word of prophecy;
whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that
shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day
star arise in your hearts: 20 Knowing this first, that no
prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man:
but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy
Ghost. 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the
people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who
privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the
Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift
destruction. 2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways;
by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words
make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time
lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. 4 For if
God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to
hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be
reserved unto judgment; 5 And spared not the old world, but
saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness,
bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; 6 And
turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes
condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample
unto those that after should live ungodly; 7  And delivered
just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and
hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their
unlawful deeds;) 9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly
out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day
of judgment to be punished:

The Master is calling His children to turn from their love
affairs with the world or those in the world and to "set
their affections upon things above." (Col 3:2)

The days are VERY short.

Mar 13:19 For in those days shall be affliction, such as was
not from the beginning of the creation which God created
unto this time, neither shall be. 20 And except that the
Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but
for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened
the days.

Saints, it is clear from this passage, and not this only that
"those days" will be days the saints will see.  We will not
be raptured away before "those days".. for how could the Lord
be merciful "for the elect's sake, whome He hath chosen" if
they were already gone from the earth?

Lu 21:23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them
that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great
distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

Re 9:6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not
find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from
them.

Study the Word to show YOURSELF approved.  It is SIN to just
blindly follow and feed upon what is dished out by those in
the pulpit as if it were God Himself speaking.  God has said
in His own Word, "PROVE ALL THINGS, hold fast THAT WHICH IS
TRUE."  How might we know what is true if we don't "make our
OWN election sure" and "try EVERY spirit to see "whether
they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out
into the world."

God commands that we not "believe not every spirit."

of God...
